Trust and Estates Attorney Louis Teti recently earned his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) designation with The American College. This designation certifies Lou as a trusted philanthropic advisor to clients in wealth and estate planning, financial planning, charitable planning, charitable giving, planned giving, nonprofit or foundation management or services, and more.
According to the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy, The Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy® (CAP®) designation “demonstrates you have the knowledge and tools to help clients articulate and advance their highest aspirations for self, family and society.”
The CAP® program consists of graduate-level courses and then a period of self-study culminating in an objective exam at a local exam center. Candidates must be engaged in the following professional activities three of the five years immediately preceding the application:
Advising individuals or charitable organizations in wealth and estate planning, financial planning, charitable planning, charitable giving, planned giving, nonprofit or foundation management or services, investment management of charitable assets or accounting; or
Employed in the nonprofit sector in a capacity related to nonprofit management, development, planned giving or fundraising.
Lou is also a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
