Family law cases are among the most challenging and demanding in the legal profession.

Unfortunately, Pennsylvania does not have a unified Family Court. This means there are separate branches of the court system which handle each of these areas. MacElree Harvey has a number of experienced attorneys who have represented clients in all aspects of Family Law throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania.
In the divorce area, for instance, our attorneys assist people with issues regarding alimony, equitable distribution, and counsel fees. Our attorneys regularly deal with such complex issues as: valuing closely held businesses, evaluating stock options, assessing pension and retirement assets, and dividing marital property in general.
Our attorneys also have extensive experience representing clients with child and spousal support issues. We have developed particular expertise in assisting our clients who are self employed or who have spouses that are self employed. This status presents particularly challenging issues in the support arena.
Child custody cases often present difficult legal as well as emotional issues. Our attorneys have assisted numerous clients mediate their custody disputes, work their way through the psychological evaluation process, and litigate their custody rights in court.
Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements are becoming more and more commonplace in our society. MacElree Harvey has several experienced attorneys who have guided numerous clients through the particular legal challenges posed by these agreements. Often our matrimonial attorneys work with our estate planning attorneys to achieve a comprehensive approach for the client to their pre and post nuptial needs.
Adoptions are among the more enjoyable and emotional experiences an attorney can have with their client. MacElree Harvey attorneys have successfully worked with clients to complete step-parent, open, closed, and international adoptions.
