Professional Experience
Lou's practice is concentrated in the areas of wills, trusts, business and tax planning, contracts, corporate, real estate law and mediation. He is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute in the areas of estate planning, tax planning and estate administration.


Memberships
Lou is a Past President of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and a Past Chairman of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, on which he served a six-year term. He is a Past President of the Chester County Bar Foundation, and he is a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. He is Vice President of the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, and was the recipient of two PBA Special Achievement Awards for his work as chairman of the PBA Long Range Planning Committee.

Lou is also a Past President and board member of the Chester County Bar Association, Past Chairman of the PBA Young Lawyers' Division, and represented the attorneys in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties (Zone 9) on the PBA Board of Governors. He served nine years in the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association and is a member of the PBA Judicial Evaluation Commission. He is a past member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Committee to Study Racial and Gender Bias in the Courts, and served for six years on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. He was the first Chairman of the CCBA Young Lawyers Division, and was founding Editor of the CCBA newsletter, New Matter. In addition to his extensive service in legal organizations, Lou is very active in the community.

He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Malvern Preparatory School, the Chester County Community Foundation (currently Chair), and the Chester County Advisory Board of Eagle National Bank. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Laymen's Retreat League (Malvern), and is a Past President of the Chester County Estate Planning Council. He is a Past Chairman of the Annual Campaign at Paoli Hospital, and the current Chair of the Board of Directors of the Foundation at Paoli Hospital. Lou is a Past President of the Central Chester County Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Central Chester County (1988) and the Rotary Club of Exton-Frazer (1982).
